LaDarius “LD” Woods, PT, DPT, PhD, CSCS
Dr. Woods earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology-Psychology from Birmingham-Southern College, Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Alabama State University, and Doctor of Philosophy in Adult Education from Auburn University. Dr. Woods is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Certified in Integrative Dry Needling (CIDN), Certified Disability Sports Specialist (CDSS), Level 1 United States Track & Field (USATF) coach, American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Level II Credentialed Clinical Instructor, Certified in Selective Functional Movement Assessment Level 2 (SFMA), Certified in Functional Movement Assessment (FMS), and Certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment BIG Practitioner (LSVT BIG). In addition, he has completed AIB’s most comprehensive program, Vestibular Assessment and Management (AIB-VAM).
Dr. Woods currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at Alabama State University, leading their neurologic and research tracks, while maintaining an active concierge’s physical therapy practice specializing in Vestibular and Parkinson disorders. He has also practiced in a variety of settings including acute care, home health, skilled nursing, and outpatient.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Woods plays an active role within APTA and his local community. He has served on the APTA Alabama board of directors, as an APTA Alabama delegate, an APTA centennial scholar, and a board member on the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Consortium, to name a few. Locally, he has served on the Birmingham-Southern College Young Alumni Council, Magic Moments Junior Board, and Kappa Alpha Psi leadership team.
