Certification Policy

Eligibility – 

Individuals with an earned degree in a specialty designation such as audiology, physician (MD or DO), physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurse, athletic trainers, physical therapy, physical therapy assistant, occupational therapy, and occupational therapy assistant from an accredited university may certify.

Hybrid & Online Workshops

Course Cancellation & Refund Policy

Once purchased, there will be no refunds or cancellations. Furthermore, participants cannot reallocate or transfer a course to another participant. Participants will receive all enduring materials upon registering and will have remaining access to all content as a certified member.

Course Transfer Policy

  • Transfer requests 30 or more days before the workshop, will be charged a fee of $150.
  • Transfer requests 29 or less days before the workshop, will be charged a fee of $250.
  • The transfer request must be made at least 14 days prior to the workshop date (via phone 727.398.5728 Option 4 or [email protected])

No Show Policy

Registrants who do not show up for their scheduled live hands-on workshop will have 3 calendar days to contact AIB to reschedule their missed live hands-on workshop. At that time, registrants have the option to reschedule to another date/location for the live hands-on workshop, and a $250 fee will apply. Registrants who do not notify us within the 3 calendar days of their absence will forfeit the live hands-on component of the certification.


In-Person Workshops

Course Cancellation Policy

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via the contact form on the AIB website or email  [email protected].

Please note the cancellation windows below:

  • 30 days or more before the workshop – Refund less $150 processing fee
  • 29 days or less before the workshop – 50% refund
  • 14 days or less before the workshop – No refund

Additional Cancellation Policies

The American Institute of Balance (AIB) is dedicated to customer service and quality continuing education. In hosting both on-site (Largo, FL) and off-site workshops, we will do our best to avoid workshop cancellations. Please understand that certain circumstances (adverse weather, natural disasters, travel delays) are not within our control. There are no refunds or expense reimbursements for unforeseen cancellations. AIB will work within its ability to reschedule any cancelled workshop and/or provide participants with the option to transfer to another workshop location at no cost.

We recognize that many participants must travel to attend AIB workshops. AIB expects registrants to make every responsible effort to report to the workshop for which they are registered. Be aware no refunds or credits shall be issued for difficulties encountered in transit. Please note that AIB does not reimburse participant travel expenses. Participants are encouraged to purchase a travel insurance plan designed to protect the traveler from losses resulting from sudden and unexpected conditions or events.

All registrants’ requests to cancel an AIB workshop or to transfer to another AIB workshop must be made via phone 727.398.5728 EXT 212 or [email protected].

No Show Policy

Registrants who do not show up for their scheduled in-person workshop will forfeit their in-person workshop and no refunds will be made.

Orders and Registrations

We request information from you to make purchases and/or register for workshops. To buy from us or register for a workshop, you must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we’ll use this information to contact you.

Accommodations and Special Needs Policy

The American Institute of Balance is committed to making our workshops accessible to individuals. If you have a disability or particular need and anticipate needing assistance while at the workshop, please contact us at 727-398-5728. Requests for reasonable accommodation at our workshops should be made as early as possible and in advance of the event so we can accommodate individual needs and requirements. Onsite requests will be accommodated to the best of our ability; however, available resources may be limited.

I have read and understood AIB’s workshop eligibility policy for attendance, certification, and CEU approval. AIB reserves the right to deny participants’ eligibility to attend workshops, receive CEU credit, and/or certify if not eligible. AIB Certification does not supersede an individual’s professional scope of practice as determined by their governing professional Association, Society or State License.

Sick/Illness Policy

To ensure the safety of all participants, attendees who have been exposed to, are symptomatic of, or have tested positive for COVID-19 or any other infectious or contagious disease are not permitted to attend the live component of the workshop. AIB reserves the right to reschedule participants if necessary for health and safety reasons. 

If you are unable to attend due to illness, you may reschedule to another live workshop at no charge, subject to availability. Written notification must be provided within 24 hours of the original event to qualify for rescheduling. The rescheduled workshop must be completed within one calendar year from the date of the original event.
