AIB Staff Receives the Patriot Award from Department of Defense

Ms. Tiffany Wash, National Training Manager, The American Institute of Balance, Largo, Florida received the Patriot Award from the Department of Defense and signed a Statement of Support affirming their support of the Guard and Reserve members who are employed by the organization.

Largo, Florida – Florida Committee Chair for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, Rita M. Broadway, MG, USA, Retired announced that Tiffany Wash, National Training Manager, American Institute of Balance, Largo, Florida received the Department of Defense Patriot Award for her support of the Guard and Reserve members who work for the organization. The award was requested by Army National Guard Specialist Douglas Jenne (Stationed in CA). The award was presented to Ms. Wash (Pictured Right) by Vice Chair FLESGR Committee, Roger Trout, LTC, USA, Retired (Pictured Left). Specialist Jenne said, “Ms. Wash is always dependable and knowledgeable whenever I have issues or questions. She and the company are so understanding and flexible with absences due to my National Guard training. This is especially crucial since our training schedule has increased lately.”

Ms. Wash signed a Statement of Support affirming the organization’s commitment to supporting the Reserve and Guard members that work for the American Institute of Balance. The American Institute of Balance commits to a program of hiring Guard, Reserve and transitioning service members and abiding by the Uniform Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA).

 

Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense program established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the law, and resolving conflict through mediation. ESGR volunteers provide free education, consultation, and if necessary, mediation for employers of Guard and Reserve employees. As the 35,000 members of the National Guard and Reserve in Florida and 1.3 million members Nationally continue to perform an increasing number of unique missions that require extraordinary actions on the part of everyday citizens, ESGR will continue to be the informational agency for the employers of citizen warriors.
